Aberdeen is a thriving, cosmopolitan and connected port in the North-east of Scotland – with people working and studying here from across the world. There is an abundance of museums, galleries, restaurants, pubs and shops to explore.
With its own beach, the city is right on the sea - ships can dock right in the heart of the city and it’s not unusual to see dolphins in the harbour.
Described as “one of the most architecturally distinctive cities in Europe”, with its granite buildings and 15th Century fortified cathedral, Aberdeen is certainly a place you won’t forget.

P&J Live
The P&J is the North East of Scotland's state-of-the-art events venue.
It boasts world-class conference and exhibition facilities and a superior 15,000 capacity arena. It also has 350 on-site bedrooms for those travelling from further afield, as well as 2,200 parking spaces, coffee shops and restaurants.

Flights
Aberdeen International Airport is located just six miles from Aberdeen city centre. The region is well connected globally with daily flights to all major airports including London Heathrow, Paris and Amsterdam. The international airport also has many direct routes to most UK cities as well as many key European destinations.
Aberdeen is well connected globally with its own international airport, railway station, ferry terminal and bus station.
Trains
Aberdeen’s railway station, right in the heart of the city, has frequent fast and reliable services to and from major cities. Trains run hourly from Glasgow and Edinburgh, with frequent trains from cities such as York, Newcastle and London. Aberdeen can also be reached overnight from London on the Caledonian Sleeper.
Cars & Buses
Aberdeen is approximately 2.5 hours’ drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow and less than a three-hour drive from Inverness.
Aberdeen is also served by MegaBus.
Once in the locality, the 727 bus travels in a loop from Aberdeen International Airport to Aberdeen Bus Station in the city centre. There’s stops every couple of minutes but the main stops to be aware of are airport hotels, P&J Live/onsite hotels and the city centre stops (of which there are 3.)
Ferries
Aberdeen Ferry Terminal is located at Jamieson's Quay directly across from the shopping centre, Union Square and the Aberdeen Railway Station. The centrally located harbour is where ferries travel regularly to/from the Scottish Isles, Orkney and Shetland.

Loganair are offering a brilliant 30% off ALL fare types for travel between 6 – 18 November, meaning you can stay a little longer and enjoy Aberdeen.

ScotRail is kindly offering our conference attendees 30% off the usual train ticket prices. This is only valid on physical tickets - E tickets are not available. Details of how to claim the discount will be sent to you when you book a Wildfire2024 ticket, but include sending an email to ScotRail.

Air France and KLM are offering attractive discounts of up to 15% on a wide range of public fares on all AIR FRANCE, KLM and their code-shared flights worldwide.
